Advice: Bring this up to her without mentioning the diary?

Dear Beerhaze,

My wife of two years has been acting strange and distant for a couple of months. We have barely been talking and our love life is at zero. I have tried finding out what is bothering her, but she has simply been shrugging off my questions.

Needless to say, I am extremely frustrated on every possible level. I have to admit that I had been considering leaving her, until yesterday…

Now I’m extremely worried for her mental health! I found and looked in her “diary”, which didn’t turn out to be a real diary at all, but lists upon lists of reminders for day-to-day activities:

  • Brush Teeth
  • Have a shower
  • Get dressed
  • Eat breakfast
  • Go to the garage
  • Drive car to work
  • Etc.

Has she lost her mind? How do I bring this up to her without mentioning the diary?

Dear Pointing North,

The first thing you should do is to take care of your frustrations, so that you may think clearly. I suggest you modify her list for tomorrow:

  • Brush Teeth
  • Have a shower
  • Shave pits and legs
  • Find lube
  • Screw husband’s brains out
  • Fetch husband some fried chicken and a cold beer
  • Etc.

Seriously though… You need to go and see a healthcare professional with your wife if she isn’t seeing one already. Do figure out what is going on. Screw the “diary” privacy worries. Her health and your marriage come first!
