Advice: Does the kissing mean I lost my virginity?

Dear Beerhaze,

I’m 23 and still a virgin. I met a guy two months ago and he was the first person I ever kissed. I liked him. He was a nice guy.

I told him I was a virgin after a couple of weeks of dating. He seemed somewhat shocked, and asked me if I was ready to have sex. When I said I wasn’t, he sort of let it go until we were kissing a few days later, and he asked me again. When I said I would only make love with my husband, he just walked out!

When we were kissing, he was saying that he loved me and that he would take care of me. It was clearly a lie. After seeing him later, I asked him straight out if he really loved, and said “No! Of course not…”

I’m glad I didn’t have sex with him! I feel stupid for letting him kiss and touch me! I’m so angry with him and even angrier with myself! How can guys be that cruel, selfish and lying?

Does the kissing mean I lost my virginity?

Dear Micro Dungeon,

No, it only means you wasted his time. It’s customary for a girl not to run to third base unless she has the intention to run all the way home (at one point or another). Who was cruel, selfish and lying?

“Losing your virginity” is normally defined as vaginal intercourse with the opposite sex… I’m sure there are all kinds of different personal and cultural definitions of “virginity”, but as a rule of thumb: penis + vagina = witchy woman.

I’m not sure what you are looking for, but good luck finding it!
